{Nail Product Review} Born Pretty Holographic Nail Powder #rainbownails

Hey everyone!

I am so excited to show you all this great product. All information is located below along with links to the product and, of course, my review. So, let's get into it.

Holographic Nail Powder

This stuff works best with no-wipe UV gel topcoat.
Black is best for the full mirror effect but a color base can make it do cool things.
This stuff works best with no-wipe UV gel topcoat. It can be done with a regular UV topcoat but only if the tacky surface is wiped off with a dry pad, no alcohol.
Application is SUPER easy. . Black is best for the full mirror effect but a color base can make it do cool things.
You need to put a bit of pressure on it in order to make sure it's burnished in really well. Brush off the excess. If the surface sparkles it means you didn't press hard enough.

My Thoughts

First things first, it needs to be said that you have to use this with a UV gel polish so that the powder will stick and adhere to the nail. It also has to be cured under a UV lamp in order to achieve the holographic look that you see in the pictures. If you don't do this, then the powder is useless and doesn't work the way that it should.

Now with all of that said, I don't like the eye-shadow applicator that comes with this as it doesn't work well to apply the powder and makes a huge mess when you do try to use it. I switched to a nail brush and it worked much better and I was able to control where the powder went so much better. Also, the container that the powder comes in is so awkward and extremely hard to open. Honestly, I almost didn't even get it open, it was that hard. So, the packaging could have been so much better, especially for the price and the amount of product you actually receive.

As for the powder it did everything it was supposed to do and so long as you put it on correctly and do everything you should do it turns out beautiful, just as in the pictures. I am actually very happy with the way it looks on my nails and I love the holographic look. It's a pain in the bum to use if you aren't used to using these kinds of powders but it's totally worth it with the results.
