We at FTK wanted to do something about this and that is why we created this shaker. We drew inspiration from vintage cans and advertisement, with it's strong colors and exaggerated sales pitches. Boring but useful information: Do not clean in the dishwasher, the shaker can take it but the design cannot. It will start to peel and that will hurt it's looks (and maybe even it's feelings). If you love making your own blend of spices and then have no where to put them then this is totally for you. I love making my own blends of different spices but then I have no where to put them when I do, therefore usually they end up in some small container that doesn't look very good on my table. So, when I found this I thought it was super cute and about time someone started making container like this. It's super retro and totally cute. Looks great on any table. Easy to clean and so far I've not had any problems with my blends coming out the way they should. The only bone I have to pick about this container though, is the fact that it is an open shaker container and I would prefer one that could be closed because some spices can clump and cause everything to stick together, which causes major problems. So, while I love this container, I totally wish it were a resealable container instead. Hopefully they will change this soon because this company has a great idea on their hands.
